Frequently Asked Questions
Individual therapy sessions are $100 per each hour-long session.
The initial intake session is $120, as it includes additional assessment and care planning.
Payment is due at the time of each session. I do not bill insurance directly; however, I am happy to provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
I am committed to making therapy as accessible as possible. Limited sliding-scale openings are available for clients experiencing financial barriers—please feel free to inquire.
Sessions can be scheduled in collaboration with me or through the secure client portal on my electronic health record platform, Sessions Health. After the initial intake, sessions are typically scheduled four weeks at a time to provide consistency and support ongoing progress.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide as much notice as possible. If a client misses a session without notice, we will work together to reschedule the first missed appointment. A second missed session without 24 hours notice will result in a $50 no-show fee.
I offer both in-person and secure telehealth counseling. Telehealth is available for clients physically located in the state of Georgia, as well as for clients living overseas, provided that legal requirements are met. Sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant platform.
Telehealth services are available for clients ages 13 and older. When working with adolescents, parents or caregivers are actively involved in the therapy process through intake, periodic updates, and collaborative check-ins, though they are not present for all sessions.
I am licensed as a Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. At this time, I am able to provide counseling services to clients who are physically located in Georgia or living overseas. I am not currently able to see clients located in other U.S. states.
As needs arise, I remain open to pursuing additional licensure or practice permissions to better serve globally mobile individuals and families.
Many of the clients I serve live across multiple time zones. I offer flexible scheduling, including early morning and evening appointments when possible, to accommodate overseas clients and internationally mobile families.
All session times are scheduled in Eastern Standard Time (EST) for clarity.
Confidentiality is a foundational part of the counseling relationship. Sessions are protected in accordance with professional ethics and legal requirements. For telehealth clients, we will also discuss considerations related to privacy of physical space, internet security, and technology use to support confidentiality.
Before beginning services, clients complete a brief psychosocial assessment to ensure that telehealth is an appropriate and safe fit. Standard limits of confidentiality—such as concerns related to safety or mandated reporting—are reviewed as part of the informed consent process.
The first session is a space to begin building safety and understanding. Prior to the initial appointment, clients complete basic intake forms and a brief psychosocial assessment. During the first session, we take time to explore what brings you to counseling, discuss goals, and begin to understand relevant history and current stressors. The first session is typically a blend of relational connection and assessment.
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy used to help process trauma, grief, and distressing experiences that remain stored in the brain and nervous system.
I practice phased EMDR, ensuring that clients have the tools and support needed before trauma processing begins. EMDR has been shown to be highly effective via telehealth and can be safely adapted for remote sessions when clinically appropriate.
You can read more about this therapy modality on the EMDR FAQ's page linked below.
