My Approach

As a Third Culture Kid myself, and with more than fifteen years of professional experience serving TCKs and missionary families through boarding ministry, mentoring, coaching, and counseling, I bring both lived understanding and clinical care into my therapy approach. I am familiar with the layered losses, adaptation, hidden grief, and identity challenges that often shape globally mobile lives.

Cultural and Relational Foundation

Many TCKs experience belonging through shared understanding rather than explanation. My approach is grounded in this relational knowing—offering a space where clients do not need to translate their stories.

Trauma-Informed & Integrative Care

My work is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from EMDR therapy, attachment-informed approaches, CBT interventions, and strengths-based insights. Together, these approaches support both nervous system healing and practical growth—helping clients understand patterns, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. EMDR is used thoughtfully and collaboratively, following assessment and preparation. For clients shaped by cross-cultural transitions, developmental trauma, or complex grief, EMDR can help integrate experiences that remain “stuck” or emotionally charged, often leading to relief, improved functioning, and greater clarity moving forward.

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling is available for clients who wish to integrate faith into the therapeutic process. I am trained in Formational Prayer and believe this approach can be a powerful avenue for healing, by inviting clients to experience God’s presence in places of emotional pain.
